What the Hands Hold
Studio Ruoms, 2025
There was something in this gesture that stopped me — the way hands can hold a fabric without quite holding it, cover without quite concealing. The veil descends, folds, slips. I did not direct the pose. I waited for the body to find its own language. The light came from the side — a single source, long and low — letting the drapery sculpt its own shadows. What I was looking for was not the nude. It was the moment just before, when one agrees to be seen.
