Wedding Photographer in Ardèche & South of France

Honest, timeless images of your wedding day

Photographing a wedding means telling the story of a day that will never happen again. Since 2019, I've been documenting weddings across Ardèche, Drôme, Gard, Vaucluse and Hérault — turning every moment of your day into honest, timeless images.

My studio is in Ruoms, in the heart of southern Ardèche, but my work travels: I'm available for weddings at the region's emblematic venues, anywhere else in France, or abroad for destination weddings.

My approach is simple — to be present without intruding, to capture genuine emotion without over-directing, and to deliver a complete visual story from the morning's first glance to the night's last dance.

Emotional moment — spontaneous embrace during a wedding in Ardèche

A Documentary Approach to Wedding Photography

The image you'll remember from your wedding is rarely the one we posed. It's your best friend laughing during the speech, your grandmother's hand on your shoulder, the look you exchange just before the ceremony. My job is to be ready for those seconds.

I shoot with a Nikon Z9 — a silent camera that lets me disappear during the most important moments. Alongside the spontaneous reportage, I include a brief but considered couple session in natural light, usually at the end of the day to take advantage of the soft glow that defines the southern French landscape.

Before your wedding, I always meet the couple — by video call if you live far away, over coffee at the Ruoms studio if you're local. This conversation helps me understand your relationship, anticipate the day's flow, and arrive on the wedding day already knowing who I'll photograph and why.

Wedding Venues in Ardèche

Ardèche is rich with venues that combine river landscapes and Mediterranean garrigue. Here are three places where I regularly work.

Outdoor ceremony under a grand tree — Domaine Les Ranchisses, Largentière

Domaine Les Ranchisses

Largentière

A 16th-century farmhouse nestled in countryside between chestnut and olive trees. The stone inner courtyard, vaulted reception barn and on-site guest rooms make it perfect for a weekend wedding where guests stay over.

First dance in a vaulted hall — Théâtre du Moulinage, Joyeuse

Théâtre du Moulinage

Joyeuse

A former silk mill reborn as a singular reception venue. The 19th-century industrial architecture, with its tall glazed windows and wooden floors, sits between rural cathedral and urban loft. Ideal for couples seeking a non-conventional setting.

Stone terrace cocktail — La Fabrique, Jaujac

La Fabrique

Jaujac

A restored silk factory turned modern wedding venue. The mix of old stone, whitewashed walls and contemporary furniture provides a clean, photogenic backdrop, especially in late afternoon when light pours through the high windows.

Beyond Ardèche, I regularly cover Drôme provençale, Gard, Vaucluse and Hérault, as well as anywhere else in France and abroad for couples planning a destination wedding. Discover my work in Ardèche.

A Typical Wedding Day Timeline

To give you a concrete sense of what a day with me looks like, here's a typical timeline for a Signature wedding (8 hours).

Bride's preparations — makeup and details before the ceremony
11 am

Arrival at the bride's location

Makeup, last preparations, the breath before the dress. Details of bouquet, rings, perfume.

Groom's preparations — boutonnière and final adjustments
12:30 pm

Groom's preparation

When timing allows, I drop by the groom's location. Boutonnière, tie adjustments, knowing glances with the witnesses.

Wedding ceremony — the kiss in Ardèche
1:30 pm

Civil ceremony

I photograph from the back of the room, no flash, silent shutter, never breaking the emotion.

Cocktail hour — joyful moments between the couple and their guests
3 pm

Cocktail hour

The most relaxed moment of the day for documentary work: portraits, embraces, laughter, first drinks.

Couple session — walking together in natural light
5 pm

Couple session

30 minutes in natural light, at a location agreed upon in advance. More of a walk than a posed session.

Couple's first dance during the reception
7 pm

Reception and speeches

I stay through the first dance to capture the emotion of speeches and the opening of the dance floor.

This is an indicative outline — every wedding has its own rhythm, and I adapt to yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos will I receive?

Between 300 and 500 for the Essentielle package, 500 and 800 for Signature, 700 and 1,000 for Éternelle. All are retouched (color, contrast, tonal balance). I never deliver raw, unedited files.

When will I receive my photos?

The complete gallery is delivered within 6 weeks of your wedding date. I send a small selection of teasers in the days following the ceremony.

Do you travel outside Ardèche?

Yes. I regularly cover Drôme, Gard, Vaucluse and Hérault without significant additional fees. I'm also available throughout France and abroad for destination weddings, with travel costs adjusted to the project.

Do you also film?

No, I photograph exclusively. I work in close partnership with several videographers in the region whom I can recommend.

How does booking work?

A 50% deposit is required upon signing the contract to secure your date. The balance is paid one week before the ceremony. I always propose an introductory call before any commitment.
